Colosseum
Vicinity Map - Rome Italy

The design development for the Colosseo Antiquarium was done using hand drafting tools only. As a requirement the final imagery was produced with freehand colored pencil and charcoal on mylar film paper. And the perspectives were constructed using a Roman style interpolation technique.
The original concept was inspired by the mixing of two matrices:
1. True North, South, East, West.
2. Cardo & Decumanus of ancient Rome. The Decumanus was an East-West oriented road, while the Cardo was the main North-South oriented street.
The image to the right is a blend of these matrices, and the site and building footprint utilized as a template for development.
